Pemberley is a small, independent book app from Edmond, Oklahoma.
The story
I’m Seth, and I built Pemberley because I was tired of keeping my reading in three places. One app held my home library. Another held my quotes and my reading friends. A third kept my stats. Each did its part well, and none of them talked to each other.
So I made the app I wanted to use myself: one place for the books you own, the lines you love, the time you spend reading and the people you read with. The goal is simple. Spend less time managing your reading, and more time actually doing it.
Why the name
In Pride and Prejudice, someone compliments Darcy on the library at Pemberley, and he says it’s been the work of many generations. I loved that idea: a library you build over a lifetime and maybe pass down. That’s what I wanted the app to feel like. Not just a tracker, but a home for your books.
How Pemberley stays free
There are no ads and no paid tier, and nothing about you or your reading is sold. Books you don’t own yet have a link to buy them on Amazon. When you use one, we earn a small commission at no cost to you. That’s it.
What we believe
Reading is the good part.
Pemberley should stay out of the way.
No guilt, ever.
Missed goals and dropped books are met with grace.
Your reading is yours.
You choose who sees it, and you can take it with you anytime.
